About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Lily, and I’m from Xi’an, China. With over 13 years of experience teaching Chinese, I specialise in early childhood literacy, reading comprehension, and short essay writing for learners of all ages. I believe every Chinese character carries a story, and I would love to guide you in discovering the cultural insights hidden within them.

Beyond teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading, and travelling. Books enrich my inner world, journeys connect me with new friends, and a delicious meal can brighten any day. I’m also a proud mother of two daughters, aged four and fourteen, who are passionate about Chinese calligraphy, Go, and storytelling. They would be delighted to share the beauty of Chinese characters and tales from our rich literary tradition with you. You are warmly welcome to visit our home and join us in exploring the joy of language and culture!

Location

Neighbourhood

The residential estate where I live was developed in 1996 and consists of 15 buildings surrounded by extensive greenery. It offers a peaceful environment alongside excellent amenities for everyday living and commuting. Just 200 metres from the estate entrance, a lively morning market operates daily, complemented by an evening market that captures the vibrant rhythm of local life. For quick errands, a small convenience store is located only 50 metres from the east gate, while a large shopping mall lies 1 kilometre away and can be reached directly by bus. Transportation is exceptionally convenient: a bus stop sits just 5 metres from the east gate, and the Metro Line 1 station is only 300 metres away. This line connects residents to Xi’an’s major attractions including Banpo, the Terracotta Army, North Street, and the Muslim Quarter, while also serving as one of the city’s main metro arteries, making transfers simple and efficient.
