About Me

Hello everyone, I’m Teacher Leng, based in the beautiful city of Kunming. I am a senior secondary school teacher with 40 years of teaching experience, including two years at the Confucius Institute in London, UK. Over the years, I have developed strong teaching expertise and a broad international perspective, helping many students excel in GCSE Chinese, HSK, everyday Chinese, and business Chinese, while also building lasting friendships with learners from around the world.

My students value my warm and patient teaching style, clear and standard Mandarin pronunciation, and wide-ranging interests. In class and beyond, we often explore the arts together—music, chess, calligraphy, and painting—as well as poetry, tea, flowers, and wine. I enjoy an active lifestyle and love sharing activities such as badminton, cycling, and dancing with my students.

My husband, an avid traveller and photographer, and I have visited more than 30 European countries as well as many major cities across China, capturing countless memorable moments along the way. We look forward to immersing you in Kunming’s natural beauty, introducing you to its unique cuisine, and helping you gain confidence and fluency in speaking Chinese.

Description

My home is located on the seventh floor of a modern 29-storey building. The apartment is relatively new and bright. Spanning over 130 square metres, it features two bedrooms, a study, a spacious living room, a dining area, and a balcony. All furniture throughout the home is made of solid wood, creating a warm and natural atmosphere. The guest bedroom, approximately 15 square metres in size, is comfortably furnished with a double bed, bedside table, and wardrobe, offering a clean, simple, and practical design. The kitchen is fully equipped with all essential appliances for everyday living. The balcony is a particularly relaxing space, furnished with a tea table where you can enjoy freshly brewed Chinese tea each day while taking in the light and calm of the surroundings.

My home is in a residential complex in the Guandu District. It’s set in a beautifully landscaped environment with a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. The estate features two gated entrances, each staffed by security personnel, ensuring a high level of safety and privacy for residents. Situated between Kunming’s First and Second Ring Roads, the complex offers easy access to public transportation. The nearest bus station is just a three-minute walk away and is served by more than ten bus routes, providing seamless connections throughout the city. In addition, dedicated coaches offer direct access to various destinations. Only a one-minute walk from the complex is Wuliduo Agricultural Expo Plaza, the largest centre of its kind in Kunming, where residents can find a comprehensive range of daily necessities.
