About Me

Hello, I’m Ms Chen (Parisa) and I’m a retired teacher living in Tamsui, a coastal town in northern Taiwan. I hold a PhD in Chinese Literature and have over 30 years of experience teaching Chinese. I have long served as a full-time Chinese language teacher at a public senior high school in Taiwan, with extensive experience in both teaching and academic administration. I specialise in transforming abstract linguistic concepts into clear, practical, and usable language skills.

I speak English and Japanese. I’m passionate about traditional and creative crafts and can teach you pottery, seal carving, weaving, handmade soap, and French fabric box making. In my free time, I participate in outdoor activities with the Taipei Wild Bird Society and occasionally hike in the mountains near Taipei. I’m also a football fan who follows the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. If you enjoy football, we can discuss matches and tactics in Chinese, making your learning experience even more engaging.

My daughters are grown and live in Taipei. They occasionally return home for family meals on weekends. Life here is peaceful and steady, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You will have a structured and supportive learning experience and gain the knowledge that goes beyond language skills.

Location

Neighbourhood

My home is located in Tamsui New Town, with direct access to the Danjiang Bridge. Travel to Taoyuan International Airport takes 30–40 minutes by car. The neighbourhood offers excellent daily amenities. PX Mart and Carrefour shopping centres are within two kilometres, and a wide variety of local Taiwanese foods are nearby. There is a bus stop at the entrance of the community. The Light Rail station is about a 5-minute walk away, and it takes approximately 15 minutes by bus to reach Tamsui MRT Station. A bicycle is also available for riding along the riverside cycling paths.
